About HandyDan
Craft you can see.
Service you can trust.
HandyDan is Dan Keinan — a licensed contractor and craftsman based in Flemington, NJ — and probably not the contractor you were expecting.
Before picking up a tool belt, Dan spent 15 years as an international photojournalist for the Associated Press, Getty Images, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. That career taught him how to read a situation fast, earn trust in unfamiliar places, and deliver under pressure — every single time. Those same instincts drive how he runs every job today.
At HandyDan, you work directly with Dan. He listens carefully, communicates honestly, shows up when he says he will, and doesn't cut corners. The craft is visible in the finished work — and in all the details most people only notice when they're missing.
The Team
Dan operates with a small, tight-knit crew — no revolving door of subcontractors. When a project calls for specialized trades, he brings in vetted, fully licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and structural engineers who are held to the same standard he holds himself.
The Work
Everyday repairs to full gut renovations. Bathrooms, kitchens, tile, heated floors, custom built-ins, decking, pocket doors — and everything in between.
"Dan did an incredible job on our bathroom renovation. He was punctual, clean, and the attention to detail was outstanding. The tile work is absolutely beautiful — we couldn't be happier."
Jennifer M.
"HandyDan transformed our outdated kitchen into something we're truly proud of. Dan communicated every step of the process and finished on time. Highly recommend to anyone in Hunterdon County."
Robert K.
"We hired Dan for a full gut remodel of our master bath. The craftsmanship is exceptional — heated floors, custom tile, the whole thing. He treated our home like it was his own."
Sarah T.
